Nathan Fillion Saves The Day

Nathan Fillion has average looks. He isn’t as handsome as a supermodel or packed full of muscles. But his characters make him appear to be the perfect buddy and that’s why I enjoy watching him.

Fillion played a wandering ship captain in Firefly and is a successful author on Castle. While most of his recent works have been on TV, he did do a movie role in Serenity. But he usually tends to play the same kind of character. His characters are almost always likable and charismatic. While they may be rugged and tough, they’re also flawed. Captain Malcolm Reynolds had trust issues at times and Richard Castle is a bit self-centered.

His talents aren’t only limited to the big and silver screens. Fillion has voiced characters for the intensely popular Halo video games. His Halo characters reference his work in Firefly and Serenity.

Although he’s well-known for his acting, Fillion also promotes literacy through Kids Need to Read. The charity helps libraries add to their book collections for a reasonable price.

I always make sure to watch Fillion on Castle with my satellite TV.(www.DirectStarTV.com) I also frequently watch Firefly and Serenity, the projects that made Fillion into a cult hero. With his wide range of appearances and familiar characters, he’s easy to like. I’ll be looking forward to whatever his next project may be.

So….I have a confession to make…..

Ever since I was a little girl, I have LOVED music. There isn’t a time in my life that I don’t look back on and think of a song that goes with an event. It’s as if I have a soundtrack to my life. A song can take me to to my past the second I hear it! Music has been my joy and has gotten me through SOOO much pain. And I DO NOT discriminate when it comes to music, I love all kinds. Thanks to my mom, Dooby Brothers, Elton John, The Dramatics, AC/DC, Aerosmith, and Journey, just to name a few, has played an active role in my life.

Now, watching the aforementioned bands as a kid, I became fascinated with guitars. An uncle who once lived with us used to keep one in his bedroom closet and my cousin and I would play on it pretending to be rock stars. Unfortunately, due to me being an urban kid living in the projects, I had to keep my love for guitars a secret. Now that I am grown, I no longer care what anyone thinks of me or my taste in music. For this reason, I have recently decided to feed my obsession with guitars and take lessons. In order to do this, I was gonna need a guitar, right?

While googling for a cheap fender bass, I came across a website and I just HAVE to speak on this website!!! Become.com is an innovative site that you can find virtually ANYTHING ON! I was able to find my cheap fender bass (actually I was able to find a WIDE selection of them) and a whole lot more. I cannot BELIEVE the price I was able to get it for! And it took NO TIME to arrive!

Amazed, I decided to check the site out a little more, and was delighted at what all I can find! But NO EXCUSES! We are gonna bring you the awesomely INSANE blog that we’ve been promising.

Hello peeps! I know it’s been a hot minute since we’ve posted on here and we apologize for leaving you all! Life gets crazy! You already know…

However, we are back and we have a new venture that we are journeying on together and to make it more exciting (and so that I feel even more inclined to stick with it) , I think it’s a good idea to share it with y’all!

Mars and I have started a new bootcamp so that we can come down and get sexy for the summer. It’s called Nu Life and it has been awesome so far. It’s definitely been a struggle, but we are seeing it through so far.

So, with that said, I will be posting before pics and throughout the journey I will be posting after pics of myself. I will also include stats and results as I go along. I will also post what I have been doing as far as meals, exercises, etc.  to let you know what I’ve done to aid me in my transformation.

Mars and I have had a little friendly competition as well in this thing, and I must say that it helps a little bit. My first week of the camp I lost 8 lbs…..but he lost 10lbs so let’s just say that he’s won round one. Ladies, we know our men lose weight faster than we will, but I’m not letting this stop me! I haven’t told Mars about this yet, but upon seeing this, I hope he’s game to do the same. Mars….whadya say? (*raises eyebrow)

The Skin That We’re In…..

Lee Thomas,an anchor and entertainment reporter for the local Fox Broadcasting Company, suffers from vitiligo on national television.

I thought that I’d take the time to reflect on a matter that I find highly irritating. Mars & I were having a conversation recently about women and society in general when it comes to skin.

I find that society has given women of color a negative sense of self in regards to their complexion! This way of thinking goes back a long ways and is still existant today. This European mentality dates back even before the days of slavery.

Women of sepia complexion should automatically know that they are beautiful, regardless of what some magazine says. I asked Mars which would he prefer. He admitted that, at one time, he went through a phase of dating women that were “high yellow” followed by a phase of dating the ”mocha chocolate” skinned females. Sadly, this has been the mindset of millions of men for years and has caused women to go through drastic cosmetic changes such as makeup, eye color, hair, etc.

Camera Shy!!

I gotta vent for a second! I got two camera tickets in the same day and damn near in the same area! Crazy part about it is that one of the cameras was inside a car( my how the upgrade on bullshit!!!) that was parked a little ways from the light. Both cameras clocked me over the speed limit (allegedly?) doing almost the same speed! I can elaborate on how windy it was that day as well as other variables showing how garbage this invention is but the bottom line is that this is just another way for taxpayers to get screwed by our legal system! I’m happy to announce that there are ways around this, go to www.ehow.com or www.highwayrobbery.com. They have listed alot of ways to beat camera tickets that I think will be useful to the future screwed motorist in the world today!

Allow me to introduce myself. I am Mr. Noel, or Mars, which ever suits me at this point! We will touch on a variety of topics including relationships, finance, music and for the party people here and outside of Cleveland, Ohio that do not quite know what our great city has to offer ( we have a wonderful nightlife, believe it or not! lol) For your inner fashion geek we will definitely review what’s in right now ( a lot of us need help, but dont take it personal). Myself and the Mrs. are extremely open to ideas about topics so let us know. With that said, bear with us as we strive to create something fresh and new for everyone. Blog on!!!

I’m Mrs. Noel, or VENUS , whichever you prefer. Not only do I look at this blog as a place to come and read about the things that my husband speaks of, but I look at it as a place of solace as well. A place for you to come to when you need advice on any topic (and I do mean ANY). From love, relationships, finance, etc. Now we’re not claiming to have degrees or anything like that, but LIFE is the BEST TEACHER and we’ve been sponges absorbing it all and we continue to learn more everyday!

I also see this as a place where we as women can let our hair down and let these men know how we feel and what we want and I feel that men can be honest about their feelings here as well. Getting life from a female/male perspective, raw and uncut, that’s how we’re doing things around here. We are definitely from different planets as far as our thinking goes and I look forward to the battles that we are sure to have! So let the games begin!
